![]() HOWEVER unchecking, "Fit Video to Window", does NOT appear to help. ![]() I think the underlying issue is using scroll wheel when the. When window takes 1/2 of screen, you still get a crash. Scroll wheel *sometimes* when window is smaller, taking up ~left 1/3 of screen: no crash. webm is playing or has stopped playing and screen is maximized (but not full screen): program crash. XnView Classic version 2.50.2, Windows 10: It's possible that "Fit Image to Window" and/or "Sort files by date" makes the problem worse: I'm not certain. When I changed the clean install to that setting, I was still able to recreate the program freeze/crash. Renaming xnview.ini to xnview.bak reminded me that I had changed the scroll wheel setting to "Next file/Previous file". Perhaps the 2007 sticky on this forum should be updated.) (I could only find the xnview.ini file after I checked the About dialog box. Within my current settings, disabling read-ahead doesn't appear to help. But fixing this scroll wheel bug would still be nice. The workaround is to navigate with the Next File/Previous file icons in the toolbar. mp4 files tend to cause more problems, I think I could create a crash with any of them. mp4 files in my directory, with an occasional. Also, waiting for the movie to end then scrolling forward will also lead to a freeze. mp4 file, repeated use of the wheel will often lead to a freeze. ![]() I really hope, because the user setting was already there in XnView, that it is not too complicated to copy it to the XnViewMP sources, and keep offering this feature.ĮDIT : oh, and very practical, the up/down keys also scroll by this value. The scroll wheel works great with still image files. I would have stayed with XnView and everything was fine, but unfortunately, XnView does not support Unicode characters in the path, and XnViewMP does. Furthermore, with images of this size (30856x1704 pixels), scroll steps are too small to get from top to bottom with reasonable mouse/key use. With all other programs, including XnViewMP, the small scrolling steps challenge the eyes to locate the frames again and again, making the obervation more tedious. XnView, to my knowledge, is the only image viewer with the option to set the vertical scroll to achieve this effect. I estimate these thumbsheets very high to quickly browse movies or my own holiday digicam clips, and have thousands of them. The example is a video thumbsheet created with an Avisynth script. I do not know any other image viewer to do this with. This gives a very ergonomic viewing experience. the thumbnail lines do not drift up or down while you scroll, but the 4 thumbnail lines (1920x1080) stay at their positions. Note that the thumbnail positions remain fixed, i.e. set to 100% zoom and press Ctrl+Home to browse the image from top, or Ctrl+End to browse it from bottom. set vertical scroll to 232 and mousewheel to hover in image (rather than switching between files) in XnView, use a 1920 width monitor (or imagine you use one), To better understand the reason for my suggestion, please I'd like to be able to set the vertical scroll amount in XnViewMP, as it is possible in XnView (settings, ouse, scroll value).
